Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Sam Maciver made the kick off which started today's match. If Kirk Mcenally had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elsternwick Amateurs's Roy Locke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Elsternwick Amateurs from getting a goal against them. In the 8th minute, Carver Saisell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roy Locke was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Edward Missen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Archie Trims tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Archie Trims took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Missen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Archie Trims showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kirk Mcenally, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the match, Elsternwick Amateurs's goal looked a bit too open when Sam Maciver came free, but Roy Locke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kris Hayman charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kris Hayman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Nelligen's Kris Hayman got a free kick in the 27th minute. Kris Hayman kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Kirk Mcenally left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Elsternwick Amateurs fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirk Mcenally in the 36th minute of play forced Nelligen's goalkeeper Archie Trims to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kirk Mcenally fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Archie Trims having to interfere. Carver Saisell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roy Locke having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edward Missen to make the kick off. Carver Saisell struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Roy Locke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nelligen. Roy Locke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carver Saisell in the 57th minute of play. Potter Rummens's late challenge caught a Nelligen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Potter Rummens helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd minute, Potter Rummens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the game, Bryan Worrall threw the ball into play from the sideline. Nelligen's Earnest Alcock quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Carver Saisell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Edward Missen fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Elsternwick Amateurs's protests and gave Edward Missen a yellow card for diving instead. After 74 played minutes Nelligen got a freekick which was hit by Damon Bacon. Archie Trims showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Missen, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After 77 minutes of play Elsternwick Amateurs's Potter Rummens was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Carver Saisell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Roy Locke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carver Saisell struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Roy Locke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nelligen. Kirk Mcenally's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 84thth minute, Archie Trims skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Edward Missen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elsternwick Amateurs's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Missen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Archie Trims breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Nelligen booed when Elsternwick Amateurs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kirk Mcenally didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Kirk Mcenally managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elsternwick Amateurs's supporters rose to their feet, but Kirk Mcenally was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelligen's Carver Saisell got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elsternwick Amateurs succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Nelligen had controlled the match.
