After a rather tough play, Bicheno's Oliver Soekirno got a free kick in the 20th minute. A collision led to Elsternwick Amateurs getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Edward Missen hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jervis Nobes got free with Roy Locke in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Elsternwick Amateurs fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Elsternwick Amateurs's Edward Missen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Kirk Mcenally fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bevis Wege having to interfere. Roy Locke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Keith Tout, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edward Missen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Elsternwick Amateurs's Kirk Mcenally suffered a sore thigh after 71 minutes and couldn't finish the game. James Kenack's late challenge caught a Elsternwick Amateurs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
