After having played for 10 minutes, Laurence Boothey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Buchan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laurence Boothey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gregory Mcjenkins made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Edmonds Mcgregor sent off a good shot on target. 20 minutes into the game, Artie Norman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Eagleby's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buchan the free kick. In the 20th match minute, Eagleby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artie Norman to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Edmonds Mcgregor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buchan's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmonds Mcgregor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gregory Mcjenkins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Handley Mudie in the 26th minute of play forced Buchan's goalkeeper Quade Caddick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th match minute, Buchan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mitchell Loch to maneuver through the defense. Edmonds Mcgregor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurence Boothey in the 47th minute of play forced Eagleby's goalkeeper Gregory Mcjenkins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laurence Boothey was the one to do the kick off. Martyon Powderham hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. 54 minutes into the match, Eagleby's goal looked a bit too open when Laurence Boothey came free, but Gregory Mcjenkins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Artie Norman was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. The supporters of Buchan booed when Eagleby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artie Norman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th match minute, Eagleby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Allen to maneuver through the defense. Gregory Mcjenkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmonds Mcgregor in the 69th minute of the match. Gregory Mcjenkins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmonds Mcgregor's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. When Connor Lewry fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eagleby's protests and gave Connor Lewry a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd minute, Connor Lewry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eagleby's Gregory Mcjenkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmonds Mcgregor in the 87th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Eagleby players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Buchan.
