Roy Locke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jervis Nobes in the 9th minute of the match. Roy Locke didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jervis Nobes went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Kirk Mcenally who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Bevis Wege when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Bicheno getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Jemmett Death hit a great ball. Edward Missen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bevis Wege having to make a save. Roy Locke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jervis Nobes, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Bevis Wege showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Missen in the 32nd minute of the match. Kirk Mcenally sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Elsternwick Amateurs booed when Bicheno was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jemmett Death didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute Keith Tout shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roy Locke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Bicheno's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Missen came free, but Bevis Wege reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48th minute of the match Andrew Facey shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roy Locke showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Bicheno's Bevis Wege played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Missen in the 52nd minute of play. In the 58th minute, Elsternwick Amateurs's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jervis Nobes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Kirk Mcenally had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Keith Tout received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Roy Locke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th match minute, Bicheno was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by James Kenack to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute of the match Bern Starling shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bevis Wege showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jervis Nobes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Roy Locke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bevis Wege made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kirk Mcenally in the 83rd minute of play. Roy Locke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keith Tout in the 88th minute of play. When Jervis Nobes came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Bicheno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jervis Nobes couldn't finish the play. Roy Locke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keith Tout in the 93rd minute of play. Keith Tout sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Bicheno players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
