Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sam Maciver kicked off to start the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Edward Missen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elsternwick Amateurs's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Missen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Archie Trims breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carver Saisell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roy Locke having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Elsternwick Amateurs's Potter Rummens got a free kick in the 15th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Sam Maciver managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nelligen's supporters rose to their feet, but Sam Maciver was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roy Locke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 18 played minutes Elsternwick Amateurs got a freekick which was hit by Edward Missen. After 22nd play minutes Kirk Mcenally shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Archie Trims and just under the crossbar into goal. After 27 minutes, Kris Hayman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nelligen and the Elsternwick Amateurs players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kris Hayman kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Kirk Mcenally got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roy Locke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam Maciver, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Roy Locke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sam Maciver's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 36th minute Edward Missen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Archie Trims saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Kris Hayman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute Carver Saisell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roy Locke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roy Locke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carver Saisell in the 42nd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edward Missen to strike the kick off in the second half. Sam Maciver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 54th minute, Payton Beale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elsternwick Amateurs's Roy Locke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sam Maciver in the 55th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Edward Missen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Archie Trims. Nelligen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Missen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Nelligen's Sam Maciver got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Archie Trims took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cliff Wakefield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sam Maciver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carver Saisell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 85 minutes into the match, Elsternwick Amateurs's Kirk Mcenally sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Archie Trims narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 87th minute Kirk Mcenally shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Archie Trims saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roy Locke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam Maciver, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After some careless play in the Nelligen defense, Kirk Mcenally kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Archie Trims. The Nelligen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Archie Trims should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Elsternwick Amateurs fans cheered their team off the field, for while Nelligen had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
