Roy Locke came out of the goal and Edmonds Mcgregor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 5th minute, Potter Rummens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, Elsternwick Amateurs's goal looked a bit too open when Laurence Boothey came free, but Roy Locke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roy Locke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Laurence Boothey's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Edmonds Mcgregor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roy Locke having to interfere. Roy Locke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laurence Boothey in the 20th minute of the match. Potter Rummens hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the match, Elsternwick Amateurs's goal looked a bit too open when Laurence Boothey came free, but Roy Locke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Elsternwick Amateurs's Potter Rummens got a free kick in the 42nd minute. If Edmonds Mcgregor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Edmonds Mcgregor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Roy Locke made a huge save. Laurence Boothey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Murphey Trevena hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Edward Missen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Quade Caddick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Buchan's goal looked a bit too open when Kirk Mcenally came free, but Quade Caddick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roy Locke made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmonds Mcgregor in the 79th minute.
