Jonathan Stockwin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Grant Trevena made a huge save. Grant Trevena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darley Mcmanamny in the 25th minute of play. Zackery Kuskop's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brent Moorby read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Ryan Mcmahon's late challenge caught a Kathmandu Academy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ryan Mcmahon helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Jerrard Colman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yulgilbar's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerrard Colman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brent Moorby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Jonathan Stockwin came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Kathmandu Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathan Stockwin couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd minute, Jonathan Stockwin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Darley Mcmanamny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Grant Trevena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zackery Kuskop to strike the kick off in the second half. Dale Worsley's late challenge caught a Yulgilbar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dale Worsley helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Kathmandu Academy getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Dale Worsley hit a great ball. The corner led Kathmandu Academy's Dale Worsley to fire away a dangerous shot which Grant Trevena despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 62nd minute, Jerrard Colman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yulgilbar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 70th minute Jason Berresford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Trevena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Jerrard Colman got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Iggi Whittington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 92 minutes, Loyd Goldsmith managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yulgilbar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Loyd Goldsmith was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Grant Trevena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Stockwin in the 97th minute of play.
