With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carsyn Whittington in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carleton Christina saved Naretha from getting behind. Karl Harkness fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abbott Clist having to interfere. Karl Harkness received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Abbott Clist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cammeray's Abbott Clist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hale Grandison in the 12th minute of play. Abbott Clist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl Harkness in the 15th minute of the match. Bill Warren kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. When Karl Harkness came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Naretha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl Harkness couldn't finish the play. Naretha's Hale Grandison got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Karl Harkness came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Naretha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl Harkness couldn't finish the play. Dani Pfingsts short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Carleton Christina to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cammeray's Dani Pfingst got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd play minute Dani Pfingst came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Carleton Christina. 1-0. After 34 minutes, Jasmine Cootes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cammeray and the Naretha players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th minute, Dani Pfingst got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Abbott Clist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl Harkness's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carsyn Whittington was the one to do the kick off.
