Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Gomersal's Barney Bostock started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Michael Odonahoo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 4 played minutes Gomersal got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Howarth. In the 8th minute Aaron Digiuseppe suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 8 minutes into the game, Jeffers Algoud was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Goondi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gomersal the free kick. Michael Odonahoo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buchanan Jackson having to interfere. Chuck Chamberlain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Goondi booed when Gomersal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barney Bostock didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Goondi's Michael Odonahoo in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gomersal's goalie prevented a goal. Parker Mudie's late challenge caught a Gomersal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Parker Mudie helped the player get up and apologised. In the 49th minute of the match Ernest Natt shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bart Schenck showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 55th minute Goondi were awarded a corner. Billy Benton went to the cornerflag to take it. Billy Benton made a great header on Goondi's corner, it was just that Gomersal's Buchanan Jackson managed to reach the ball for a save. After 65 minutes of play, Goondi's Chuck Chamberlain made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Buchanan Jackson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gomersal's Bud Telfer got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Parker Mudie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buchanan Jackson having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Barney Bostock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Parker Mudie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michael Odonahoo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Bud Telfer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gomersal's supporters rose to their feet, but Bud Telfer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bart Schenck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd minute Michael Odonahoo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Buchanan Jackson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Goondi were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Gomersal for a fine match.
