After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Brendon Groves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gooloongolok's supporters rose to their feet, but Brendon Groves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carmichael Oshea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Brendon Groves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carmichael Oshea was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brook Beattie in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carmichael Oshea saved Toolbrunup from getting behind. In the 24thth minute of the game Brook Beattie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Toolbrunup's Carmichael Oshea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carmichael Oshea was left in no man's land by his defense there! Allen Mcjunkin was extremely unlucky when he, in the 40th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The supporters of Gooloongolok booed when Toolbrunup was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Meyer Price didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Artie Salcedo to make the kick off. Brook Beattie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmichael Oshea having to interfere. In the 56th match minute, Toolbrunup was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorimer Snabl to maneuver through the defense. If Brook Beattie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gooloongolok's Brook Beattie got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Dalton Mcmillan fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gooloongolok's protests and gave Dalton Mcmillan a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Gooloongolok's Dalton Mcmillan got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 67th minute, Allen Mcjunkin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thomas Huther showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artie Salcedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The audience was convinced that Brook Beattie's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carmichael Oshea was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brook Beattie in the 82nd minute of play forced Toolbrunup's goalkeeper Carmichael Oshea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Best Wal's late challenge caught a Toolbrunup's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Best Wal helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th minute, Best Wal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 88 minutes into the match, Toolbrunup's goal looked a bit too open when Brook Beattie came free, but Carmichael Oshea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Toolbrunup's goalkeeper Carmichael Oshea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brendon Groves. Brendon Groves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmichael Oshea having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Toolbrunup's zone, Brook Beattie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carmichael Oshea came out of the goal and Brook Beattie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 97th minute, Allen Mcjunkin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thomas Huther was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Gooloongolok were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Toolbrunup to leave the ground with a draw.
