After 3 played minutes Badgen got a freekick which was hit by Mack Fitton. 4 minutes into the match, Badgen's goal looked a bit too open when Roy Didlick came free, but Laurence Grigson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Badgen getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Mack Fitton hit a great ball. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Badgen's goalkeeper Laurence Grigson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mack Schultz hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 8th minute, Arthur Egel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roy Didlick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roy Didlick recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of blackwoood booed when Badgen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mack Fitton didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, blackwoood's Roy Didlick dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Eddy Holdsworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st match minute, blackwoood was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Phillips to maneuver through the defense. Eddy Holdsworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arthur Egel in the 44th minute of play forced blackwoood's goalkeeper Buck Mcgaw to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 52nd minute, blackwoood's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Arthur Egel fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Buck Mcgaw showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddy Holdsworth, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Eddy Holdsworth did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Buck Mcgaw 64 minutes into the match. Eddy Holdsworth blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Buck Mcgaw having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blake Locke in the 80th minute of play forced Badgen's goalkeeper Laurence Grigson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Blake Locke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, blackwoood's Buck Mcgaw got control of the ball when Arthur Egel tried to sneak it across the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Badgen's goal looked a bit too open when Blake Locke came free, but Laurence Grigson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute Blake Locke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurence Grigson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
