Spectators: 6922 (Terracing: 5644, Seating: 1250, VIP seats: 28) Perthominium's Benney Burton started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bert Will in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Russell Thomas saved Perthominium from getting behind. Benney Burton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Arty Sparrow managed to get in a good position for a shot. Perthominium's supporters rose to their feet, but Arty Sparrow was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charles Paynter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 11th minute, Perthominium's Benney Burton ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Charles Paynter. Charles Paynter yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bert Will in the 15th minute of play forced Perthominium's goalkeeper Russell Thomas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 minutes, Carman Kaine mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wirrega and the Perthominium players grew even worse after the yellow card. Carman Kaine hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Perthominium were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Wirrega's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arne Schenck took the corner. After taking down the ball on Perthominium's corner Arne Schenck fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Charles Paynter quite easily take care of the ball. After 24 minutes of play, Perthominium's Benney Burton made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Charles Paynter was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Wirrega's Charles Paynter got control of the ball when Benney Burton tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arty Sparrow recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benney Burton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Paynter having to interfere. If Benney Burton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Perthominium booed when Wirrega was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carman Kaine didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Benney Burton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benney Burton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Charles Paynter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Niles Freeman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Niles Freeman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Russell Thomas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bert Will in the 54th minute. Niles Freeman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Russell Thomas having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Wirrega's goal looked a bit too open when Arty Sparrow came free, but Charles Paynter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niles Freeman in the 61st minute of play forced Perthominium's goalkeeper Russell Thomas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Arty Sparrow got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arty Sparrow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Charles Paynter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carman Kaine kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Benney Burton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charles Paynter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Perthominium had played much better football throughout.
