Ingham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Neil Leach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With splendid footwork Neale Howie arrived in front of goal to shoot 2-0 by the left pole in the game's 36th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacob Durbridge during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
