Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bruno Wal started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a rather tough play, Lidsdale's Artie Crapp got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Quade Dollymore showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Billy Boston, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. If Bruno Wal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barry Kirkham in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Neale Carlisle saved Lidsdale from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Billy Boston in the 19th minute of play forced Hoyleton's goalkeeper Quade Dollymore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Billy Boston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Lidsdale's Billy Boston sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Quade Dollymore narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Billy Boston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quade Dollymore having to interfere. Lidsdale's Bart Will got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Billy Boston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bart Will fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quade Dollymore having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Billy Boston made the kick off in the second half. Hoyleton's Quade Dollymore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bart Will in the 56th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Hoyleton's goal looked a bit too open when Arty Staworowski came free, but Quade Dollymore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edmund Loch during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 67 minutes of play, Lidsdale's Billy Boston made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Quade Dollymore was left in no man's land by his defense there! Barry Kirkham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 81 minutes into the match, Hoyleton's goal looked a bit too open when Bart Will came free, but Quade Dollymore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Neale Carlisle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Wal in the 85th minute of play. After having played for 87 minutes, Billy Boston managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lidsdale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Billy Boston was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 89 minutes of play, Lidsdale's Billy Boston made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Quade Dollymore was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Bruno Wal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Lidsdale players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
