Silverspur
Spectators: 6771 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 0) Dalton Delahide made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 6thth minute of the game Nathan Waterland who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Silverspur's Brandon Minne was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Nathan Waterland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Silverspur defense, Dalton Delahide kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brandon Minne. The Silverspur fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brandon Minne should have stopped the shot. Brandon Minne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nathan Waterland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dalton Delahide sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. James Byrnes might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brayden Knaack. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. James Byrnes ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Pegler in the 32nd minute of play forced Rockhampton's goalkeeper Brayden Knaack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Rockhampton's zone, James Byrnes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brayden Knaack came out of the goal and James Byrnes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Rockhampton's Brayden Knaack got control of the ball when James Byrnes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 39thth minute of the game Dalton Delahide who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Silverspur's Brandon Minne was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nathan Waterland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Bruce Osbiston hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Rockhampton were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andy Pegler made a kick off. Andy Pegler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brayden Knaack read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Brandon Minne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalton Delahide, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. A collision led to Silverspur getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Caine Mapps hit a great ball. Bryanne Rheistein's shot from long distance in the 62nd minute was not bad at all, but Silverspur's Brandon Minne knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. James Byrnes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If James Byrnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brayden Knaack showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andy Pegler, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Nathan Waterland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Brandon Minne made a huge save. Brandon Minne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nathan Waterland in the 75th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, James Byrnes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brayden Knaack. Rockhampton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that James Byrnes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With a little luck, Silverspur's Brandon Minne got control of the ball when Nathan Waterland tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brayden Knaack made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andy Pegler in the 89th minute of play. After 93 minutes, Nathan Waterland mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rockhampton and the Silverspur players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nathan Waterland hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Brandon Minne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalton Delahide in the 96th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Dalton Delahide dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Brandon Minne, 1-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Rockhampton had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
