With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ethan Gruer in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olin Ward saved Nanneella from getting behind. In the 21st minute, one of Nanneella:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Nanneella. If Ethan Gruer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nanneella's Olin Ward proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Nanneella from getting a goal against them. Clifford Terris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alan Cuddihy in the 36th minute of the match. Olin Ward showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ethan Gruer, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 40th minute, Clay Shirdon reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Olin Ward. The goal made the score 1-0. If Ethan Gruer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 46 minutes, Ethan Gruer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rangal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ethan Gruer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Rangal's Carmichael Warhurst got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Olin Ward took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ethan Gruer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Rangal's Clifford Terris got control of the ball when Byron Frew tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Nanneella defense, Clay Shirdon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olin Ward. The Nanneella fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olin Ward should have stopped the shot. Clifford Terris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alan Cuddihy, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Ethan Gruer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olin Ward read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Allen Anderson's late challenge caught a Nanneella's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Allen Anderson helped the player get up and apologised. Allen Anderson kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Alan Cuddihy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 72nd minute, Byron Frew made a precise shot to the right of Clifford Terris. Rangal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After a rather tough play, Rangal's Carlos Goodwin got a free kick in the 80th minute. Alan Cuddihy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Allen Anderson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clay Shirdon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Olin Ward tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Nanneella's zone, Ethan Gruer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olin Ward came out of the goal and Ethan Gruer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
