The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Barnes Mcgregor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bern Raison's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. Rodney Fessa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Long Best, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th match minute, Kelmia Jets was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berry Natt to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Kelmia Jets defense, Long Best kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodney Fessa. The Kelmia Jets fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodney Fessa should have stopped the shot. In the 13th minute, Kenneth Mcjenkins made a precise shot to the right of Rodney Fessa. Kelmia Jets's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Rodney Fessa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bray Serena, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Bern Raison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hal Eversden in the 27th minute of play forced Kelmia Jets's goalkeeper Rodney Fessa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kenneth Mcjenkins hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After 31 played minutes Kinkabilla got a freekick which was hit by Bray Serena. Kinkabilla's Barnes Mcgregor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Kinkabilla from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Nathaniel Gissane took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Barnes Mcgregor to make any attempt to save it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-5.

Kelmia Jets's Rodney Fessa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Kelmia Jets from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute of the match, Bray Serena tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rodney Fessa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Kenneth Mcjenkins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Rodney Fessa made a huge save. 59 minutes into the match, Long Best dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rodney Fessa, 1-6. In the 68th minute Long Best shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodney Fessa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodney Fessa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hal Eversden in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Long Best in the 72nd minute of play forced Kelmia Jets's goalkeeper Rodney Fessa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodney Fessa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Long Best in the 74th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Kelmia Jets's goalkeeper Rodney Fessa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bray Serena. Rodney Fessa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-7. After a defensive mix-up in Kelmia Jets's zone, Long Best stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodney Fessa came out of the goal and Long Best tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 87 minutes into the match, Kelmia Jets's goal looked a bit too open when Bray Serena came free, but Rodney Fessa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Kelmia Jets's Bern Raison sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Barnes Mcgregor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hal Eversden could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Rodney Fessa made a huge save. 94 minutes into the game, Kenneth Mcjenkins was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kinkabilla's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kelmia Jets the free kick. The supporters of Kelmia Jets booed when Kinkabilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kenneth Mcjenkins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodney Fessa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenneth Mcjenkins, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
