Bill Triplett kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 35thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Lynwood's keeper Ben Convine was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. In the 39th play minute Brice Fraser came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ben Convine. 2-0. Lynwood's Ben Convine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neil Hoey in the 45th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Neil Hoey to strike the kick off in the second half. Ben Convine stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Neil Hoey's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Bill Triplett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wapengo's Neil Hoey got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute of the match Wapengo got a corner. Lynwood's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Phillip Boyce ran over to the corner to take the kick. Neil Hoey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ben Convine having to interfere. After 70 played minutes Lynwood got a freekick which was hit by Bert Bundy. Neil Hoey might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ben Convine. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Neil Hoey ran back to his position shaking his head. Bill Triplett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the game, Wapengo's Neil Hoey nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ben Convine made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 87th minute Neil Hoey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ben Convine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Lynwood's goalkeeper Ben Convine, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Wapengo fully deserved thier win.
