Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Neil Hoey made the kick off which started today's match. In the 4th minute of the match Rolando Ritter sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Crawford Galvin skillfully saved the ball. Neil Hoey kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Neil Hoey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the game, Neil Pearse was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hopevale's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wapengo the free kick. In the 15th match minute, Hopevale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Neil Pearse to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Hopevale booed when Wapengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradshaw Trenoweth didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wapengo's Crawford Galvin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiger Vickery in the 18th minute of play. A well-hit corner resulted in Barth Merz heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The crowd rose to their feet as Tiger Vickery kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Crawford Galvin. That made the score 1-0 in the 29 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Neil Hoey in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Davey Maslin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Wapengo's zone, Tiger Vickery stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Crawford Galvin came out of the goal and Tiger Vickery tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Crawford Galvin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiger Vickery, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Hopevale were furious when Murphey Newham was red carded, 39 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hopevale fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! Davey Maslin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bill Triplett in the 45th minute of the match. After 47 minutes Hopevale's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Phillip Boyce who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Wapengo's Neil Hoey to fire away a dangerous shot which Davey Maslin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

Neil Pearse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bill Triplett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Davey Maslin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Davey Maslin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Neil Hoey's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. When Hopevale's Barth Merz in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wapengo's goalie prevented a goal. Neil Hoey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Davey Maslin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hopevale's Davey Maslin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Hopevale from getting a goal against them. Neil Hoey struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Davey Maslin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wapengo. Hopevale's Davey Maslin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neil Hoey in the 78th minute of play. After having played for 79 minutes, Bill Triplett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wapengo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bill Triplett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Neil Hoey in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Davey Maslin saved Hopevale from getting behind. Bill Triplett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
