Fletcher Norton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Corbett Goucher made a huge save. After 6 played minutes Lucaston got a freekick which was hit by Dwight Howie. If Marshal Gillingwater had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 11 minutes, Dwight Howie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lucaston and the Coomunga players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14thth minute of the game Marshal Gillingwater who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Coomunga's Loyd Brophy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Lucaston's goal looked a bit too open when Corbett Hollingworth came free, but Corbett Goucher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Marshal Gillingwater's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Loyd Brophy was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Lucaston's Rick Brandie got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Rick Brandie came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Lucaston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rick Brandie couldn't finish the play. Corbett Hollingworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Rick Brandie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lucaston's supporters rose to their feet, but Rick Brandie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Loyd Brophy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Corbett Hollingworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corbett Goucher having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Corbett Goucher successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpected shot in the 42nd minute by Justin Hoey got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.

The wind increased when Corbett Hollingworth made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Lucaston booed when Coomunga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Connell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Coomunga's Loyd Brophy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Coomunga from getting a goal against them. When Justin Hoey came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Coomunga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Justin Hoey couldn't finish the play. Corbett Hollingworth blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Corbett Goucher having to make a save. 61 minutes into the match, Lucaston's goal looked a bit too open when Justin Hoey came free, but Corbett Goucher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rick Brandie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Corbett Goucher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corbett Hollingworth in the 84th minute of play. Corbett Goucher stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Corbett Hollingworth's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. The Coomunga fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Coomunga's Corbett Hollingworth looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Loyd Brophy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rick Brandie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Justin Hoey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Lucaston's zone, Justin Hoey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Corbett Goucher came out of the goal and Justin Hoey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Coomunga were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lucaston for a fine match.
