Myles Brennan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oakenden. Alex Toomey's late challenge caught a Oakenden's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The Kojonup fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Matthias Thorne might have been able to make a better finish in the 49th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Calvin Will. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Matthias Thorne ran back to his position shaking his head. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Brook Mcneven made the kick off in the second half. Calvin Will made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthias Thorne in the 53rd minute of play. After 60 played minutes, Kojonup's Davey Haydock shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Calvin Will came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kojonup reached it. In the 63rd minute, Brook Mcneven made a precise shot to the right of Calvin Will. Oakenden's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Kojonup's defense didn't have a chance, in the 71st minute, when Brian Fitzsimmons scored to the left of an out of position Myles Brennan, making the score, 2-1. Bryanne Behla hit a great ball. It was beautiful to see Oakenden's Biggs Maddern in action when he in the 84th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The Kojonup support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
