Brookes Brennan started the match with the kick off. 2 minutes into the match, Homerton's goal looked a bit too open when Bud Brotherton came free, but Milton Obrien reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Homerton's zone, Barry Coleman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Milton Obrien came out of the goal and Barry Coleman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Barry Coleman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Oliver Allen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Brookes Brennan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barry Coleman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Ethan Reilly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kenneth Aylwin came out of the goal and Brookes Brennan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, Homerton's Kenneth Aylwin threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Brookes Brennan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Brookes Brennan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brookes Brennan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Kenneth Aylwin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kenneth Aylwin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brookes Brennan in the 40th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Barry Coleman to strike the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes Gwando got a freekick which was hit by Phil Reynolds. In the 60th minute, Ethan Reilly got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kenneth Aylwin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ethan Reilly, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute, Barry Coleman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gwando's Bud Brotherton got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Barry Coleman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Milton Obrien tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gwando's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barry Coleman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marshal Kuch kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Marshal Kuch charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marshal Kuch the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Gwando booed when Homerton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marshal Kuch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gwando's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Phil Reynolds in the 98th minute. The corner ended in Phil Reynolds almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Homerton's Milton Obrien did a great save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gwando players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Homerton.
