Max Cootes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Corey Beverley in the 3rd minute of the match. Howard Oconnell hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Geringong's Corey Beverley got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Corey Beverley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Gocup booed when Geringong was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olin Keam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gocup's Drew Ridding got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Max Cootes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Corey Beverley in the 14th minute of the match. Anthony Wayland charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anthony Wayland the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Geringong's Anthony Wayland got a free kick in the 16th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andre Stevens in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Niles Didlock saved Geringong from getting behind. 24 minutes into the match, Corey Beverley had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Max Cootes. Gocup's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Corey Beverley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 35th minute, Corey Beverley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Drew Ridding came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Gocup fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Drew Ridding couldn't finish the play. Niles Didlock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Drew Ridding in the 41st minute of the match. Max Cootes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corey Beverley in the 44th minute of play. Andre Stevens succeeded in the game's 45th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Corey Beverley made a kick off. In the 60th minute, one of Geringong:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Geringong. Niles Didlock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andre Stevens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Andre Stevens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gocup's supporters rose to their feet, but Andre Stevens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niles Didlock breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 77 minutes, Olin Keam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geringong's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olin Keam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 85 minutes into the match, Geringong's goal looked a bit too open when Andre Stevens came free, but Niles Didlock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lewis Unicomb hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After 88 minutes, Corey Beverley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Geringong and the Gocup players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 92 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Geringong! The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 99th minute of the game. One of Geringong:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gocup:s goal. When the match had been going on for 102 minutes, Gocup's Edwardo Benton got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Niles Didlock.
