Drew Ridding had several of the Tyalgum's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 34 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Ernest Rowden as he didn't even see the shot coming. 38 minutes into the match, Drew Ridding notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Tyalgum's Ernest Rowden. Ernest Rowden was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Drew Ridding was the one to do the kick off. Ernest Rowden made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. In the 91st minute Birrell Giddey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Cootes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stan Delahide hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Pierre Whelpton kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The supporters of Gocup booed when Tyalgum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaffery Andrews didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gocup had played much better football throughout.
