The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Curtis Mcinnis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Dakota Aylwin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Harcourt's supporters rose to their feet, but Dakota Aylwin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Murphy Gorham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bill Tarrant during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bill Tarrant kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Nilson Franklin charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nilson Franklin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th match minute, Springcliff was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilson Franklin to maneuver through the defense. 19 minutes in the game, Edmundson Stevenson fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Murphy Gorham having to interfere. Dakota Aylwin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Murphy Gorham skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 24th minute Kevin Brien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brye Coburn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Springcliff getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Humphrey Chamberlain hit a great ball. Murphy Gorham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundson Stevenson in the 53rd minute of play. Dakota Aylwin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murphy Gorham having to interfere. Kevin Brien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brye Coburn having to interfere. Dakota Aylwin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Murphy Gorham read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. When Dakota Aylwin came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Harcourt fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dakota Aylwin couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Springcliff's Bill Tarrant got a free kick in the 69th minute. Kevin Brien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Brye Coburn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Edmundson Stevenson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 85 played minutes Springcliff got a freekick which was hit by Bill Tarrant. Murphy Gorham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dakota Aylwin in the 86th minute of the match. With a little luck, Harcourt's Brye Coburn got control of the ball when Kevin Brien tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brye Coburn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kevin Brien in the 93rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Bill Tarrant managed to get in a good position for a shot. Springcliff's supporters rose to their feet, but Bill Tarrant was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brye Coburn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clarke Gronow kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The Springcliff supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Springcliff would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
