Island of Ferns's James Rowdon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irwin Johnston in the 25th minute of play. Andy Johnson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. James Rowdon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tom Nurthen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Rowdon having to interfere. With a little luck, Island of Ferns's James Rowdon got control of the ball when Andy Johnson tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Tonga left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Island of Ferns.
