The supporters of Island of Ferns booed when Springcliff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Springcliff's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andre Atterton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 13thth minute of the game Curtis Mcinnis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Island of Ferns's James Rowdon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 16th match minute, Island of Ferns was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brendan Howard to maneuver through the defense. Curtis Mcinnis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 21 minutes, Curtis Mcinnis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Springcliff's supporters crossed their fingers, but Curtis Mcinnis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th minute, Andre Atterton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 31 played minutes Springcliff got a freekick which was hit by Keefer Sylvester. 36 minutes into the game, Springcliff's Kevin Brien nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. James Rowdon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Island of Ferns's zone, Kevin Brien stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. James Rowdon came out of the goal and Kevin Brien tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st minute of the match, Curtis Mcinnis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but James Rowdon saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Kevin Brien could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but James Rowdon made a huge save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

51 minutes into the match, Island of Ferns's goal looked a bit too open when Curtis Mcinnis came free, but James Rowdon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54thth minute of the game Curtis Mcinnis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Island of Ferns's James Rowdon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bill Tarrant's late challenge caught a Island of Ferns's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bill Tarrant helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andre Atterton in the 68th minute of play forced Springcliff's goalkeeper Murphy Gorham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Island of Ferns's Andre Atterton got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 71st match minute, Springcliff was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bleyd Mitchell to maneuver through the defense. If Curtis Mcinnis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. James Rowdon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Franklin, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Murphy Gorham made an important save on a dangerous shot by Neil Carberry in the 82nd minute. In the 82nd minute, Nilson Franklin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the match, Island of Ferns's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Brien came free, but James Rowdon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. James Rowdon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Curtis Mcinnis in the 86th minute of the match. Kevin Brien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 89 minutes of play, Springcliff's Curtis Mcinnis made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. James Rowdon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cole Boserio kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. A hard shot by Byrne Coleman from long distance, 95 minutes into the match, got Murphy Gorham's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.
