Spectators: 6769 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1769, VIP seats: 0) David Bonnison started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the match, Cheviot's goal looked a bit too open when Stan Stevens came free, but Earnest Wirth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Stan Stevens came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Pembroke FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stan Stevens couldn't finish the play. In the 7th minute David Bonnison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlisle Baxter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Cheviot booed when Pembroke FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nichol Trenoweth didn't get a good kick on the ball. Earnest Wirth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martyon Palmington in the 9th minute of the match. Stan Stevens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Earnest Wirth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stan Stevens in the 21st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stan Stevens in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Earnest Wirth saved Cheviot from getting behind. Martyon Palmington recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pembroke FC's Stan Stevens got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Stan Stevens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Cheviot's Barth Bohn got a free kick in the 35th minute. Stan Stevens struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Earnest Wirth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pembroke FC. If Martyon Palmington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Earnest Wirth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stan Stevens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cheviot's Earnest Wirth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stan Stevens in the 44th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martyon Palmington in the 45th minute of play forced Cheviot's goalkeeper Earnest Wirth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nichol Trenoweth hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stan Stevens to strike the kick off in the second half. Martyon Palmington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Earnest Wirth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the last second Earnest Wirth throw himself and got hold of the ball when Stan Stevens in the 54thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 59th minute, Jeffray Diefenbach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. David Bonnison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Stan Stevens came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Pembroke FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stan Stevens couldn't finish the play. Earnest Wirth made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Martyon Palmington sent off a good shot on target. Stan Stevens's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Earnest Wirth read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Martyon Palmington managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pembroke FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Martyon Palmington was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Earnest Wirth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stan Stevens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After recieving a nice pass, Pembroke FC's Larry Solomon tried to score from far away in the 74th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. A collision led to Cheviot getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. John Freel hit a great ball. Martyon Palmington who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Earnest Wirth when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Martyon Palmington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Earnest Wirth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martyon Palmington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Earnest Wirth having to interfere. Stan Stevens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Earnest Wirth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Cheviot getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Eavan Baptiste hit a great ball. Stan Stevens blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Earnest Wirth having to make a save. Cheviot's Earnest Wirth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Cheviot from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Pembroke FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Stan Stevens hit a great ball. In the 86th minute, Stan Stevens fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. Stan Stevens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Despite being the better team, Pembroke FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
