After 2 played minutes Garryowen got a freekick which was hit by Artie Mcgregor. Bruno Tenser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Smee having to interfere. 7 minutes into the game, Arnie Schoenke was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Garryowen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lawlers the free kick. In the 7th minute, Arnie Schoenke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Lawlers's Arty Lyle tried to score from far away in the 8th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Bruno Tenser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dugald Kuch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Smee having to interfere. Art Ayrton charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Art Ayrton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Buck Bailey came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Garryowen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Buck Bailey couldn't finish the play. Dugald Kuch blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antonio Smee having to make a save. In the 29th match minute, Lawlers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Haskell to maneuver through the defense. Bruno Tenser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Antonio Smee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Bruno Tenser came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Lawlers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Tenser couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Buck Bailey was the one to do the kick off. Bruno Tenser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Smee having to interfere. In the 56th minute Dugald Kuch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Smee saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruno Tenser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Antonio Smee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruno Tenser could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Antonio Smee made a huge save. Jackson Cochrane hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Antonio Smee stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dugald Kuch's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Antonio Smee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dugald Kuch, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 65th match minute, Garryowen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnie Schoenke to maneuver through the defense. Arty Lyle made a great header on Lawlers's corner, it was just that Garryowen's Antonio Smee managed to reach the ball for a save. With a little luck, Garryowen's Antonio Smee got control of the ball when Bruno Tenser tried to sneak it across the goal line. Buck Bailey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmundson Shorten having to interfere. Dugald Kuch blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antonio Smee having to make a save. Dugald Kuch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Antonio Smee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Garryowen's goalkeeper Antonio Smee had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bruno Tenser. The crowd rose to their feet as Lawlers's Bruno Tenser slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Antonio Smee. That made the score 0-1 after 79 minutes of play. In the 83rd minute, Lawlers's Dugald Kuch dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. After having played for 87 minutes, Olin Kesi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garryowen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olin Kesi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dugald Kuch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Antonio Smee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Garryowen's Artie Mcgregor got a free kick in the 91st minute. Arty Lyle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antonio Smee having to make a save. Bruno Tenser could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Antonio Smee made a huge save. Lawlers's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
