Spectators: 7563 (Terracing: 5789, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Herman Murphy kicked off to start the match. If Jared Kuskop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rudolph Dearn kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. In the 5th minute, Herman Murphy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jared Kuskop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kane Arkinstall charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kane Arkinstall the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Rhodes booed when Gold Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kane Arkinstall didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benny Sennett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herman Murphy in the 15th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Jared Kuskop shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benny Sennett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antony Hart could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Brayden Babbage made a huge save. In the 25th match minute, Gold Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kane Arkinstall to maneuver through the defense. In the 26thth minute of the game Herman Murphy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gold Stars's Benny Sennett was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jared Kuskop recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Jared Kuskop's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benny Sennett was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Jared Kuskop's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benny Sennett read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. After 41 minutes of play, Rhodes's Jared Kuskop made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benny Sennett was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Rhodes's Bryden Stafford got a free kick in the 44th minute. After the first half Rhodes were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antony Hart to make the kick off. Benny Sennett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herman Murphy in the 54th minute of the match. In the 54th minute of the game, Lawrance Boserio landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Rudolph Dearn's late challenge caught a Rhodes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rudolph Dearn helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dane Johnston in the 62nd minute of play forced Gold Stars's goalkeeper Benny Sennett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jared Kuskop could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Benny Sennett made a huge save. 67 minutes into the game, Herman Murphy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rhodes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gold Stars the free kick. Herman Murphy kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Gold Stars's goalkeeper Benny Sennett had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jared Kuskop. After having played for 76 minutes, Jared Kuskop managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rhodes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jared Kuskop was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Gold Stars's zone, Barth Tebbit stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benny Sennett came out of the goal and Barth Tebbit tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 79 minutes into the game, Jared Kuskop cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Benny Sennett was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jared Kuskop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny Sennett having to interfere. After some careless play in the Gold Stars defense, Herman Murphy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benny Sennett. The Gold Stars fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benny Sennett should have stopped the shot. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Gold Stars's goalkeeper Benny Sennett, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jared Kuskop scored 0-4 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benny Sennett, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rhodes's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
