Bock Clack fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwards Newton having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Jagger Goldsmith got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Roland Warren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Bock Clack managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Cliffs Devils's supporters rose to their feet, but Bock Clack was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edwards Newton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute, Samuel King hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roland Warren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Jeffress having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Bock Clack ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edwards Newton was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in westmanly's zone, Bock Clack stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edwards Newton came out of the goal and Bock Clack tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st minute, Aaron Dobbing hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paul Norman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edwards Newton. westmanly's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Red Cliffs Devils booed when westmanly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Preston Goodbun didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Red Cliffs Devils were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a little luck, westmanly's Edwards Newton got control of the ball when Bock Clack tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lawrance Obrien in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Michael Jeffress prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61st minute, Roland Warren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bock Clack who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Edwards Newton when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 69 minutes, Danton Colling mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Red Cliffs Devils and the westmanly players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Red Cliffs Devils's Danton Colling got a free kick in the 69th minute. Roland Warren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Bock Clack managed to get in a good position for a shot. The referee gave Danton Colling a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 82nd match minute, Red Cliffs Devils was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danton Colling to maneuver through the defense. Michael Jeffress made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lawrance Obrien in the 84th minute of play. Peter Giles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edwards Newton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. When the match was over Red Cliffs Devils could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than westmanly throughout the match.
