Antony Hart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwards Newton having to interfere. Preston Goodbun charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Preston Goodbun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Preston Goodbun kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Antony Hart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwards Newton having to interfere. Gold Stars's Benny Sennett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lawrance Obrien in the 18th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Roland Warren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Antony Hart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edwards Newton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nero Ambrose, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute, Antony Hart got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 35 played minutes Gold Stars got a freekick which was hit by Kane Arkinstall. Roland Warren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Benny Sennett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benny Sennett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lawrance Obrien in the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th minute Nero Ambrose shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwards Newton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Lawrance Obrien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lawrance Obrien in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benny Sennett saved Gold Stars from getting behind. Benny Sennett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lawrance Obrien in the 65th minute of the match. After 68 played minutes westmanly got a freekick which was hit by Rudolph Rishton. Antony Hart blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edwards Newton having to make a save. 73 minutes into the match, Gold Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Roland Warren came free, but Benny Sennett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lawrance Obrien in the 76th minute of play forced Gold Stars's goalkeeper Benny Sennett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Gold Stars booed when westmanly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lawrance Obrien didn't get a good kick on the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
