Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ozzie Hands made the kick off which started today's match. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Ozzie Hands managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yakapari's supporters rose to their feet, but Ozzie Hands was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Malcolm Wivell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 9 minutes, Jared Gannan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lidcomb and the Yakapari players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jared Gannan hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Malcolm Wivell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quade Franklin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Lidcomb booed when Yakapari was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Powell didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Carlisle Gillingwater hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Malcolm Wivell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ozzie Hands, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kris Giddey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fletcher Moon having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Yakapari's Raymond Alchin got a free kick in the 24th minute. Brad Brennand recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Yakapari getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Matthew Powell hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Lidcomb's Dario Nobes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Brad Brennand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Fletcher Moon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brad Brennand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fletcher Moon having to interfere. Kevin Tenser walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kris Giddey to make the kick off. In the 83rd minute, one of Yakapari:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Yakapari. Dario Nobes shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Yakapari's Fletcher Moon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brad Brennand in the 86th minute of play. If Brad Brennand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
