Malcolm Wivell was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Braedan Schulzte capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Braedan Schulzte really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 16 minutes into the game, Tomaco FC's Kent Cudmore nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Malcolm Wivell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brad Brennand in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oliver Freeman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 26 played minutes, Lidcomb's Zackery Allen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Oliver Freeman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lidcomb reached it. Kirk Saisell's late challenge caught a Lidcomb's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kirk Saisell helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Tomaco FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Kirk Saisell hit a great ball. During the 30th minute of the match Caine Macumber completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Caine Macumber a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Oliver Freeman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brad Brennand, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brad Brennand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kris Giddey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliver Freeman having to interfere. When Kris Giddey came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Lidcomb fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kris Giddey couldn't finish the play. 2-1 became the score in the 42nd minute when Kris Giddey elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Kris Giddey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Oliver Freeman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kent Cudmore was the one to do the kick off. Tomaco FC's Kent Cudmore got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 61st minute Kris Giddey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliver Freeman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomaco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kent Cudmore was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Tomaco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kris Giddey came free, but Oliver Freeman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Tomaco FC booed when Lidcomb was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Nobes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 90 minutes of play Tomaco FC's Kirk Saisell was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 90th minute, Kirk Saisell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brad Brennand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute.
