Dane Wakefield didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brad Brennand went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Mingay getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Tobie Goodbun hit a great ball. In the 13th minute, Brad Brennand left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lidcomb fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Kris Giddey might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dane Wakefield. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kris Giddey ran back to his position shaking his head. Tobie Goodbun hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 21 minutes, Tobie Goodbun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mingay and the Lidcomb players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Mingay getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Tobie Goodbun hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Mingay's Gregory Renny got a free kick in the 28th minute. Dane Wakefield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Giddey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Malcolm Wivell made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Carlisle Oreilly sent off a good shot on target. Brad Brennand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dane Wakefield having to interfere. Kris Giddey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gregory Renny kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Samuel Szobczak during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dane Wakefield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kris Giddey, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Jared Gannan hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. The supporters of Mingay booed when Lidcomb was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kris Giddey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lidcomb's Carlisle Gillingwater got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jervis Sennett to make the kick off. Malcolm Wivell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jervis Sennett, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 53 minutes into the game, Cassidy Lawrence was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lidcomb's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mingay the free kick. Mingay's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Kris Giddey 75 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. After having played for 81 minutes, Jervis Sennett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mingay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jervis Sennett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute, Jared Gannan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dane Wakefield was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Brad Brennand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Dane Wakefield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Brad Brennand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lidcomb's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
