Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Angelo Adair started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Bernie Sparrow kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. When Benjy Brophy came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Kooringal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjy Brophy couldn't finish the play. Benjy Brophy took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sam Aistrope. Sam Aistrope dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelo Adair in the 14th minute of play forced The Z Team's goalkeeper Sam Aistrope to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, The Z Team's goal looked a bit too open when Benjy Brophy came free, but Sam Aistrope reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Stan Shipman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kooringal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Z Team the free kick. Henry Hinwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barney Groves in the 24th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Angelo Adair made a precise shot to the right of Sam Aistrope. The Z Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Benjy Brophy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute, Berny Pearse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute, Berny Pearse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Kooringal's Henry Hinwood got control of the ball when Rod Glover tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Kooringal getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Marco Oreilly hit a great ball. Rod Glover came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Henry Hinwood could save by the left post. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Barney Groves in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henry Hinwood prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Barney Groves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 58th minute, Bryce Boserio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 65 played minutes, The Z Team's Russel Huther shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Henry Hinwood came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in The Z Team reached it. After 68 minutes of play, The Z Team's Barney Groves made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Henry Hinwood was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 75th minute Angelo Adair shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sam Aistrope saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Barney Groves came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the The Z Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barney Groves couldn't finish the play. Sam Aistrope showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Adair, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in The Z Team's zone, Benjy Brophy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sam Aistrope came out of the goal and Benjy Brophy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Barney Groves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Hinwood having to interfere. If Barney Groves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
