Randall Smoothey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Eliot Quelch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bo Couzens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliot Quelch having to interfere. Eliot Quelch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bo Couzens, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. 49 minutes into the match, 69ers's goal looked a bit too open when Bo Couzens came free, but Eliot Quelch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
