After a defensive mix-up in Melton's zone, Russell Christian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Larkin Mcjunkin came out of the goal and Russell Christian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute of the match, Cassidy Curtis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Burns Price saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 28th minute, Melton's Cassidy Curtis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Burns Price. Burns Price yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Larkin Mcjunkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Russell Christian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute Brendan Swan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Larkin Mcjunkin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cassidy Curtis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Burns Price stood somewhat misplaced when Andre Moon came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 48 minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a rather tough play, Desarcas's Brian Mackney got a free kick in the 54th minute.
