Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Philip Hicks recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brant Newton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Brooks Mccartan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brooks Mccartan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brant Newton, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Howard Barugh hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. If Brant Newton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neil Tout took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Philip Hicks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute Alvin Devine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Neil Tout saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mullumbimby's Neil Tout played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvin Devine in the 31st minute of play. Brant Newton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Mullumbimby defense, Alvin Devine kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Neil Tout. The Mullumbimby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Neil Tout should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alvin Devine to make the kick off. Philip Hicks took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Neil Tout. Neil Tout dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. If David Hoey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Hoey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brooks Mccartan having to interfere. A collision led to Sunnyside getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Keith Worsley hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Mullumbimby's Patrick Owens got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute, Andres Missen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Drew Woodbridge kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Drew Woodbridge hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute Brant Newton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brooks Mccartan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 78 played minutes Sunnyside got a freekick which was hit by Adolph Ross. Brooks Mccartan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Hoey in the 86th minute of the match. If Brant Newton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the game, Mullumbimby's Brant Newton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brooks Mccartan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Brant Newton might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brooks Mccartan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brant Newton ran back to his position shaking his head. When Adolph Dowling fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sunnyside's protests and gave Adolph Dowling a yellow card for diving instead. Adolph Dowling hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Brooks Mccartan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Hoey, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. 97 minutes into the match, David Hoey had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brooks Mccartan. Sunnyside's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Hoey was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Mullumbimby were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
