Elliott Sibbold was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 11th minute. Melbourne 2023's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elliott Sibbold in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Larkin Mcjunkin saved Melton from getting behind. If Rudolph Sibbold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rudolph Sibbold sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rudolph Sibbold made a kick off. Larkin Mcjunkin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudolph Sibbold, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Elliott Sibbold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Larkin Mcjunkin having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Melton's zone, Antonio Tupman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Larkin Mcjunkin came out of the goal and Antonio Tupman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Melbourne 2023's Antonio Tupman got a free kick in the 89th minute. Elliott Sibbold sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Antonio Tupman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Larkin Mcjunkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carson Feutrill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassidy Curtis in the 98th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassidy Curtis in the 101st minute of play forced Melbourne 2023's goalkeeper Carson Feutrill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Melbourne 2023's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
