The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Bo Riley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 11 minutes into the match, Melton's goalkeeper Larkin Mcjunkin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bo Riley. Larkin Mcjunkin came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Lambina's Laurence Yard. But to his dismay, Laurence Yard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Bo Riley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th minute, Bo Riley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Brown Limmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Melton's Arthur Kinsey got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Bo Riley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Larkin Mcjunkin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Melton got a freekick which was hit by Martyon Baxter. If Bo Riley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matt Jackson in the 37th minute of play forced Melton's goalkeeper Larkin Mcjunkin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bo Riley got free with Larkin Mcjunkin in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Matt Jackson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Larkin Mcjunkin having to interfere.

Lambina were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Melton's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Matt Jackson took the corner. After 54 minutes, Laurence Yard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lambina and the Melton players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th minute, Laurence Yard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute, John Eicke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barnes Claringbold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassidy Curtis in the 62nd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Lambina's goal looked a bit too open when Cassidy Curtis came free, but Barnes Claringbold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barnes Claringbold took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassidy Curtis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bo Riley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Larkin Mcjunkin having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Cassidy Curtis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 89 minutes, Matt Jackson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lambina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matt Jackson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Matt Jackson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Brant Alwege fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Melton's protests and gave Brant Alwege a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd minute, Brant Alwege hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Brown Limmer sped through Melton's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Larkin Mcjunkin. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Lambina had played much better football throughout.
