Ike Schenck's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edison Fasey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Preston Jeffress in the 9th minute of play forced Perth Lynx's goalkeeper Edison Fasey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edison Fasey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ike Schenck, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Ike Schenck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute of the match Russell Natt sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edison Fasey skillfully saved the ball. In the 32nd minute Ike Schenck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edison Fasey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bent Pfingst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Corbett Sobczak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Earle Minne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, Azure FC's goalkeeper Corbett Sobczak had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bent Pfingst. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Earle Minne to make the kick off. Jarrett Mckinley hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Ike Schencks short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Edison Fasey to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Artie Haslem charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Artie Haslem the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Ike Schenck came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Azure FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ike Schenck couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute Bent Pfingst shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corbett Sobczak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ike Schenck could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Edison Fasey made a huge save. Preston Jeffress fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edison Fasey having to interfere. Preston Jeffress recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 78th minute, Ike Schenck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ike Schenck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Edison Fasey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Corbett Sobczak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bent Pfingst in the 85th minute of the match. Azure FC's Corbett Sobczak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bent Pfingst in the 86th minute of play. Rodd Fessey hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Bent Pfingst recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Earle Minne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
