The WAI fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when WAI's Alberto Freeman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Samuel Pack showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jasmine Bromfield in the 21st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, WAI's Nathan Locke got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in WAI's zone, Adolfo Trevena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lowrey Richard came out of the goal and Adolfo Trevena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jasmine Bromfield came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the WAI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jasmine Bromfield couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 52nd minute of the match, Luck Bailey got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lowrey Richard was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to WAI getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Duncan Heberle hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Jasmine Bromfield's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Samuel Pack was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Adolfo Trevena hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Olliver Neich lost his temper 70 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 71 minutes into the match, WAI's goalkeeper Lowrey Richard had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elliot Hanslow. Lowrey Richard made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Luck Bailey sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Luck Bailey kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lowrey Richard. That made the score 1-1 in the 77 minute of play. WAI's Jasmine Bromfield got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, WAI's Lowrey Richard got control of the ball when Luck Bailey tried to sneak it across the goal line.
