With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edison Fasey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lowrey Richard made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bent Pfingst in the 17th minute. Artie Groves charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Artie Groves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of WAI booed when Perth Lynx was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position.
