In the 7th minute Blake Harkness shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lowrey Richard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Freeman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Russel Nelson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jasmine Bromfield in the 12th minute of play forced Highett's goalkeeper Russel Nelson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lowrey Richard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brayden Todman in the 13th minute of play. Lowrey Richard didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Blake Harkness went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 20thth minute of the game Jasmine Bromfield who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Highett's Russel Nelson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jasmine Bromfield in the 21st minute of play forced Highett's goalkeeper Russel Nelson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jasmine Bromfield in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Russel Nelson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th minute of the match, Nathan Locke tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Russel Nelson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brayden Todman in the 27th minute of play forced WAI's goalkeeper Lowrey Richard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29thth minute of the game Case Staggard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but WAI's Lowrey Richard was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Russel Nelson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jasmine Bromfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. If Alberto Freeman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Freeman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Highett's Russel Nelson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathan Locke in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half Highett were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Jasmine Bromfield made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, WAI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ace Thomas to maneuver through the defense. Jasmine Bromfield scored 1-2 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Russel Nelson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jasmine Bromfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Russel Nelson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Highett booed when WAI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnie Rishton didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute, Alberto Freeman made a precise shot to the right of Russel Nelson. Highett's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. In the 93rd minute Jasmine Bromfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Russel Nelson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jasmine Bromfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 97 minutes into the match, Highett's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Freeman came free, but Russel Nelson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
