In the 8th minute, Hale Tevelien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barry Pickhills was a little too slow when Aron Bowman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 22nd match minute, Dapto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barney Pukallus to maneuver through the defense. Byron Richard came free with the goalkeeper in the 24th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Barry Pickhills could save by the left post. When Aron Bowman came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the The Amateurs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aron Bowman couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Hale Tevelien managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Amateurs's supporters rose to their feet, but Hale Tevelien was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barry Pickhills breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 30 minutes into the match, The Amateurs's Byron Richard sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Barry Pickhills narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Barney Pukallus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Dearn having to interfere. Hale Tevelien charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hale Tevelien the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Berne Gilding recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dapto's Berne Gilding got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Byron Richard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barry Pickhills having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Berne Gilding to make the kick off. Barry Pickhills made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Byron Richard in the 53rd minute of play. Barney Pukallus struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Michael Dearn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dapto. If Berne Gilding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute, Berne Gilding got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Byron Richard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the game, Stephan Mcmanamny was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dapto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Amateurs the free kick. The supporters of The Amateurs booed when Dapto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stephan Mcmanamny didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barry Pickhills took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Byron Richard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Byron Richard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Barry Pickhills tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, The Amateurs's Payne Dollymore got a free kick in the 76th minute. Byron Richard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
