Spectators: 6846 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1846, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Brookes Gannan started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Barling during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 3 played minutes Belmunging got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Barling. Barney Pukallus struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Abraham Mundine didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dapto. Abraham Mundine made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Barney Pukallus sent off a good shot on target. Abraham Mundine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Berne Gilding, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brookes Gannan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Brookes Gannan put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Barry Pickhills. Dalton Muller's late challenge caught a Dapto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dalton Muller helped the player get up and apologised. In the 20th minute, Dalton Muller hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Berne Gilding fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abraham Mundine having to interfere. Barry Pickhills showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Bowie, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. If Kevin Bowie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brookes Gannan in the 34th minute of play forced Dapto's goalkeeper Barry Pickhills to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute, Brookes Gannan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Barry Pickhills made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brookes Gannan in the 38th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Brookes Gannan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belmunging's supporters rose to their feet, but Brookes Gannan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barry Pickhills breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Belmunging were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

If Kevin Bowie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute, Thomas Marcola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dalton Muller kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, Dapto's goalkeeper Barry Pickhills had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kevin Bowie. Dapto's Barry Pickhills played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brookes Gannan in the 76th minute of play. A collision led to Dapto getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Bryce Malacarne hit a great ball. With a little luck, Dapto's Barry Pickhills got control of the ball when Kevin Bowie tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Brookes Gannan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belmunging's supporters rose to their feet, but Brookes Gannan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 93rd match minute, Dapto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bryce Malacarne to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute Brookes Gannan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barry Pickhills saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kevin Bowie struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Barry Pickhills didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Belmunging.
