Seating: 1834, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Damon Barugh took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute, Art Gaffigan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cuthbert fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 11 minutes, Lewis Munster mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Earlston and the Cuthbert players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Earlston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lewis Munster to maneuver through the defense. Grant Bowen's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Pierre Colling skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Edmonds Hands came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Cuthbert's Loyd Clarke. But to his dismay, Loyd Clarke quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The audience was convinced that Art Gaffigan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edmonds Hands was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Damon Barugh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierre Colling having to interfere. Edmonds Hands made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Art Gaffigan in the 29th minute of play. Loyd Clarke's late challenge caught a Earlston's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Loyd Clarke helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cuthbert getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Loyd Clarke hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the game, Art Gaffigan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Edmonds Hands was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 35 minutes, Art Gaffigan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cuthbert and the Earlston players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Cuthbert getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Art Gaffigan hit a great ball. Edmonds Hands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicholas Kile, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Grant Bowen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Cuthbert's goalkeeper Pierre Colling had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Grant Bowen. In the 47th match minute, Cuthbert was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicholas Kile to maneuver through the defense. In the 48th minute, Earnest Clinton fired a really elegant long shot, but Pierre Colling threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Loyd Clarke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Earlston's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Art Gaffigan fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Art Gaffigan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Edmonds Hands when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 55th match minute, Earlston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kelvin Nunn to maneuver through the defense. Edmonds Hands was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Eavan Matthes. If Grant Bowen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarvis Crawford struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Pierre Colling didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Earlston. Lewis Munster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Earlston's Edmonds Hands got control of the ball when Art Gaffigan tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Grant Bowen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ollie Waterland fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Earlston's protests and gave Ollie Waterland a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of Earlston:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cuthbert:s goal. A collision led to Cuthbert getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Loyd Clarke hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grant Bowen in the 86th minute of play forced Cuthbert's goalkeeper Pierre Colling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pierre Colling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lewis Munster in the 89th minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Earlston's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nicholas Kile fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Art Gaffigan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edmonds Hands stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicholas Kile's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. In the 100th minute, Grant Bowen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Earlston fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Cuthbert eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
