The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Damian Salcedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kale Bromfield in the 4th minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, Kentville's goalkeeper Damian Salcedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herman Freeman. 8 minutes into the game, Bert Peplow was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kentville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave North Geelong Warriors the free kick. Bert Peplow kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Herman Freeman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Damian Salcedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Kentville defense, Herman Freeman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Damian Salcedo. The Kentville fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Damian Salcedo should have stopped the shot. Damian Salcedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herman Freeman's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Max Pound's late challenge caught a North Geelong Warriors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Max Pound helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th minute, Max Pound hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Herman Freeman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Salcedo having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Kentville's Myles Huntington got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After some careless play in the North Geelong Warriors defense, Darryl Bailey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Quade Glover. The North Geelong Warriors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Quade Glover should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Herman Freeman could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which Damian Salcedo however easily saved by the left post. 48 minutes into the match, Kentville's goalkeeper Damian Salcedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herman Freeman. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 51 minutes, Herman Freeman made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Kentville's Damian Salcedo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. North Geelong Warriors's Herman Freeman got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Kale Bromfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd minute, Brook Legg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kentville's Damian Salcedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herman Freeman in the 65th minute of play. Damian Salcedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herman Freeman, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Darryl Bailey came free with the goalkeeper in the 79th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Quade Glover could save by the left post. After some careless play in the Kentville defense, Herman Freeman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Damian Salcedo. The Kentville fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Damian Salcedo should have stopped the shot. If Herman Freeman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Irrintzi Toribia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Salcedo having to interfere. Herman Freeman took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Damian Salcedo. Damian Salcedo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Kale Bromfield fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Salcedo having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the North Geelong Warriors players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
