Thomas Mccarthy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Edwards Franklin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Thomas Mccarthy, 1-0. Amos Kinsey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Antwerp's zone, Amos Kinsey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Mccarthy came out of the goal and Amos Kinsey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amos Kinsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Mccarthy having to interfere. Samuel Mills recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 30th match minute, Antwerp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnie Nunn to maneuver through the defense. If Edwards Franklin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edwards Franklin in the 39th minute of play forced Antwerp's goalkeeper Thomas Mccarthy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clay Grandison hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the match, Antwerp's goalkeeper Thomas Mccarthy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amos Kinsey. Antwerp's Thomas Mccarthy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Antwerp from getting a goal against them. Zackery Heathwood's late challenge caught a Duffield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zackery Heathwood helped the player get up and apologised. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amos Kinsey stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Edwards Franklin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Mccarthy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 58 minutes of play, Duffield's Amos Kinsey made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thomas Mccarthy was left in no man's land by his defense there! Amos Kinsey took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thomas Mccarthy. Thomas Mccarthy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Thomas Mccarthy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amos Kinsey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edwards Franklin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Thomas Mccarthy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Samuel Mills had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Doyle Alves fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Antwerp's protests and gave Doyle Alves a yellow card for diving instead. In the 70th match minute, Antwerp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doyle Alves to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Edwards Franklin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Duffield's supporters rose to their feet, but Edwards Franklin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Mccarthy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Edwards Franklin came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Duffield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edwards Franklin couldn't finish the play. If Amos Kinsey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Mccarthy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edwards Franklin in the 79th minute of the match. Edwards Franklin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Mccarthy having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Antwerp's Doyle Alves got a free kick in the 88th minute. Duffield's Richard Travers got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edwards Franklin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Duffield had played much better football throughout.
